Bail Court Program
This is a court-based program that provides vital information
to victims about their rights and their offenders’ bail hearings, bail conditions and release.
Victim Services of Peel’s staff and volunteers work closely with victims to advocate on their behalf with crown attorneys regarding the setting of bail conditions for violent offenders. The staff and volunteers attend all bail hearings on behalf of VSOP clients and inform them of bail conditions after each hearing. This program is critical in keeping victims informed so they can plan for their safety, without having to be retraumatized by going to court.
