Situated in the Greater Toronto Area, the Region of Peel is the second largest municipality in Ontario, adding approximately 25,000 new residents each year.
Within the Region, our focus is on the municipalities of Mississauga and Brampton, with a combined population of more than 1,260,000 people.
Peel has gone through major changes in the last few decades. Rapid population growth and commercial development have transformed what was primarily a rural area of farms and villages into a dynamic blend of urban, industrial, and residential areas. Most notably, the Region is one of the most diverse areas in Canada - more than 150 different cultures make up our unique population.
